Ich bin zwar schon seit ein paar Tagen wieder zu Hause, aber die WM beschäftigt mich noch immer sehr. Nicht nur wegen der niederländischen Erfolge, sondern sicherlich auch wegen der fantastischen Organisation. Als erfahrener Experte mit zwei Weltmeisterschaften als Teil der Organisation weiß ich, wie viel Aufwand in den reibungslosen Ablauf einer solchen Veranstaltung steckt. Ich möchte Ihnen und Ihrem Team meinen tiefen Respekt für die geleistete Arbeit aussprechen.

Sehr geehrter Herr Bürgermeister,

Im Namen der niederländischen Delegation möchte ich Ihnen herzlich für den gastfreundlichen Empfang in Ihrer wunderschönen Stadt Rothenburg/Oberlausitz anlässlich der Weltmeisterschaft im Pylonrennen in der vergangenen Woche danken.

Ich war sehr beeindruckt von der hervorragenden Organisation dieser Veranstaltung, die unter der Leitung von Herrn Volker Wollert und mit der engagierten Unterstützung zahlreicher Freiwilliger in äußerst professioneller und herzlicher Weise durchgeführt wurde. Es war ein Privileg, an einer Meisterschaft teilzunehmen, die nicht nur sportlich Maßstäbe setzte, sondern auch durch ihre warmherzige und gut organisierte Atmosphäre überzeugte.

Neben dem sportlichen Teil hat uns auch die herrliche Umgebung Rothenburgs begeistert. Die reizvolle Landschaft, die Ruhe und die Gastfreundschaft der Region haben unseren Aufenthalt zu einem besonders angenehmen Erlebnis gemacht.

Wir blicken mit großer Freude auf unseren Aufenthalt in Rothenburg zurück und hoffen, auch in Zukunft erneut als Gäste in Ihrer Stadt willkommen zu sein.

I would like to echo the thoughts and comments from Paul Beks regarding the success of the championship event that you recently ran.
The UK team were very happy with all aspects of the event organisation, you had all requirements covered at the correct level, not too much and not too little.
The Rothenburg airfield is very suitable for RC pylon racing and also I may say many other model flying events, I walked around the site thinking about other events such as RC aerobatics, RC helicopters, RC soaring and CL models. All could be well accommodated at your airfield, I would strongly recommend that the FAI/CIAM give Rothenburg very serious consideration for holding further World Championship model flying events.
I think that the eastern part of Germany (former DDR) is very suitable for model flying events, given the good international transport links, central European location and a calm and organised approach to tasks that are presented.
I first flew in an RC pylon World Championship in 1985 and your event ranks amongst the best held.
If I can be of any help in furthering you holding more events then please let me know. I think a repeat event in 2027 would be very well received by all countries and competitors.

I thought it would be worth communicating my very positive thoughts about the recent International model flying competition held at Rothenburg airfield.

We found the facilities to be of a high standard but more importantly the personnel under the capable control of Volker Wollert were of an exceptional standard, no issue or problem was too much for them to handle.
We also found the local people to be friendly and helpful.
I would very much look forwards to returning to Rothenburg for further International model flying competitions.

We are very happy with the WC in Rothenburg. From large things like your team and their hard work to make this a great WC to small things that made it as good as it was.  Let me list some things.
Your team made an amazing job making this WC that success it was.. You should really hold your head high all of you.
Smooth competition, very happy that there were possibilities for lunch and breakfast on the field. Nice tent for all participants, tables were great. Nice and clean toilets.
I can actually not think of one thing that went wrong. Super nice arrangement Volker.

This was our fourth time participating in a pylon contest in Rothenburg-o.l. The first three were Euro Cups, and the most recent one was a World Cup event.
Each time, we have been deeply impressed by the airfield and accommodations, as well as the consistently outstanding organization.
Looking back at last week’s World Championship, we want to express our sincere appreciation.
The event was exceptionally well organized, and all of the judges did an excellent job.
We’d also like to acknowledge the many volunteers and staff who played crucial roles—from the car drivers and announcers to the fuel team and those involved in the opening and closing ceremonies.
Their dedication and professionalism made a real difference in the overall experience.
Additionally, having the luxury of breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided daily was a wonderful touch, and we certainly made the most of it.
On behalf of the Belgium team (just the two of us), we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the incredible organization and the support from the municipality.
This was truly one of the best-organized World Championships we have attended.
We hope to see more European and possibly World Championships held in Rothenburg-o.l. in the near future.

Lieber Volker,

Ich möchte mich nochmals für die Organisation der WM bedanken. Es war ein fantastisches Event und für mich persönlich ein absolutes Highlight meiner Modellflugkarriere. Es war bemerkenswert, wie sorgfältig bis ins kleinste Detail durchdacht und vorbereitet wurde. Auch meine Frau Emmy und mein Sohn Simon haben sich an der Tankstelle sehr wohl gefühlt. Ein großes Lob gilt auch der Verpflegung. Wir sind Vegetarier und es gab jeden Tag mehr als genug Auswahl, was wir nicht erwartet hatten. Es war meine fünfte Weltmeisterschaft und meiner Meinung nach die beste. Nochmals vielen Dank und bis zum nächsten Mal in Pyloncity!
